Paul is 39 years old and lives in Winyates with his partner and two daughters. Paul was born in Worcester and has grown up and lived in Redditch since the age of four.
He was educated at Icknield First School, Moatfield Middle School and Arrow Vale High School. At 16 years old Paul decided to pursue a career in technical theatre and worked as a trainee at the Palace Theatre in Redditch. Paul was mentored by the late and great Arthur Bunegar or 'Bunny' a well-known character to the town and local community.
After completing his training he then began working professionally as a theatre technician and lighting designer at venues such as the Alexandra Theatre, Midland Arts Centre and Birmingham Hippodrome. Paul also toured internationally throughout Europe and Pakistan with Nahid Siddiqui & Company - a contemporary dance company based in Birmingham.
In 1997 Paul decided to start his own business. Enlightenment is a Redditch-based company that primarily supplies and installs lighting & sound equipment to the entertainment industry throughout the UK and EU.
Paul is no stranger to politics either having stood for the Conservatives in four previous local elections. Narrowly missing out in 2008, by only nine votes, when they took control of Redditch Borough Council. Following the MP's expenses scandal Paul also stood as the Independent Parliamentary candidate for Redditch at the last General Election. The three main parties have let us down and Paul believes that a completely new approach is needed in order to rebuild trust in politicians and strengthen our democracy.
